This is Cade Vinyard

From 2022 to 2024, I had the luxury of working out of the Kershner Trading Group office and learning directly from him. Cade has since gone on to do huge things at Fifth Lane Capital, where he now manages over $50 million.

Back then, it was usually just Cade, Scott, and myself in the office every Sunday. No distractions. No noise. Just screens, charts, and trying to get better. That’s where I saw Cade’s discipline and work ethic up close and it left a lasting mark on how I think about trading.

He shared how he went from years of losses to making tens of millions by mastering risk, cutting losses quickly, and showing up every single day with intent. His breakthrough came when a mentor believed in him and reminded him that the real edge in trading is staying in the game.

Cade always said comparing yourself to other traders will destroy your mindset and he was right. Every edge fades, the market is always evolving, and long-term success belongs to the ones who adapt, stay consistent, and keep doing the small, unglamorous things most people won’t.

He also talked about how his health, structure, and relationships outside the market became part of his edge. Because trading isn’t about Lambos or freedom on the beach. It’s about discipline, humility, and getting a little better every day.

If you want to take trading seriously, start by building your process and equipping yourself with the right tools.
